Welcome to Allegheny Cemetery
Founded in 1844, Allegheny Cemetery is one of Pittsburgh’s most beloved historic landmarks — and one of its most active. Spanning 300 acres in the heart of Lawrenceville, our grounds are home to over 137,000 individuals, including many of the city’s most notable figures, and remain a living part of the Pittsburgh community.
As a nonprofit organization, we take pride in offering exceptional, compassionate service alongside an unmatched setting. From traditional burial and cremation to memorialization and pre-planning, our dedicated team is here to guide families through every decision with professionalism and care.
With an accredited arboretum, miles of peaceful roads, and over 180 years of history to explore, Allegheny Cemetery is more than a final resting place — it is a landmark, a green space, and a place of comfort for the entire Pittsburgh community.
